Should we plant a Jacaranda or crape myrtle in our backyard?

I find them more colorful and more impressive. The only thing you really need to consider if you’re thinking about planting one is the size of your yard. Jacaranda is very big, so you need a large yard or it will completely dominate it. Crape myrtle is generally much smaller, and it has the advantage of blooming for a longer period. I’m lucky enough to see both of these often, and jacaranda can be quite impressive. The color when in bloom is truly spectacular. But unfortunately the size makes in unsuited for my yard. If you have a large enough property, though, it’s what I’d suggest. I hope this helps!!
