Should we be saving our fossil fuels to adjust climate in future millenia?
That’s an excellent question. I wonder this myself anytime I for example would hear from someone saying why it was so important to drill up ANWR (Alaskan National Wildlifer Reserve), simply because there are fossil fuels there we can still tap. But in my mind, ‘are and still’, being the key words. Global Warming aside, the one main reason to conserve fossil fuel, is simply because, once we use up, not just our own personal reserves, but the reserves of the world… that’s the end of it. Nothing to fall back on. We’ve been led to believe, that fossil fuels are vital to our civilization, we’ve depended on it and still do. So say we do get around to being able to get by without it eventually, but after that, if something bad happens (sooner or later over the next millenia it will) and mankind has to pick itself back up, the reserves would be essential. Humananity’s primary source for fuel, is on the virge of extinction. Lesser civilizations will not have it, because the people of today, w
