Should we advise vaccinees who receive MMRV to avoid close contact with persons susceptible to these diseases for up to 6 weeks?
The MMR components are not transmissible. The only concern would be the varicella component. If the vaccinee develops a rash, treat it as you would varicella vaccination – that is, the vaccinee should avoid close contact with a susceptible or immunosuppressed person until all rash lesions are crusted over.
