SHOULD WAITERS TIPS BE SHARED WITH KPS ECT?
In my opinion as a customer, yes a tip should be split between everyone who was involved in preparing and serving my meal. The waiter on carried the plate from A to B, I give a tip for the appreciation of the good meal prepared for me by the chef, but I understand the chef needs to split the tip with the KP and the waiter. “service not include” …. a service is something that is done for someone, a service includes the chef who cooks, the KP who cleans, the mangement who runs the establishment, the cleaner who makes it a nice environment and the waiter/ess that serves. Just because the waiter collects the tips, it doesn’t mean they own the tips! That is my opinion, and if I ever knew tips left by me wasnt being fairly divided amongst the whole team that has given me an enjoyable meal, I would never leave a tip.
