Should violent video games be band?
I don’t believe that violent videogames should be banned because if you look at any videogame today, its going to contain some degree of violence. Politicians tried and failed to ban certain types of videogames in the past, namely the Grand Theft Auto games, because of the potential for violence that the game made available to the player. The politicians argued that videogames would lead to real-world violence among teens and pre-teens. This is mainly the reason why the ESRB was formed, to evaluate games and give them a rating. Laws were also passed that would limit the sale of videogames based on their ratings. Example: and “M” rated game could only be purchased by someone age 17 or older. Stores would also be required to take measures to ensure that the policy was followed. Wal-Mart requires you to either show ID or state your birth date, depending on your appearance also (if you don’t look 17, they’ll ask for ID).
