Should US forces in Muslim nations be required to adhere to Ramadan customs on US military installations?”

I have Muslim friends and when I am with them, I adhere to their customs. I feel that when we are in a Muslim country (and, yes, I have been in Muslim countries), we should adhere to their customs as much as possible (such as dress and honoring their culture). A military base or post is an extension of our country and while on these “outposts” we should conduct ourselves in an appropriate manner, of course, but we should be able to eat and drink during the day on the post or base itself. When we venture into the Muslim communities, however, it is uncouth to eat, drink or chew gum in front of someone that is probably thirsty and hungry, but is waiting until sundown due to Ramadan to eat or drink (they have huge feasts after sundown).
