Should UK schools offer separate assembly for muslims?
Well as a child growing up in the UK we had every faith in our school Muslims too and we all had the same assembly, it was never a big deal in my school in the UK and its not a big deal for my children at school in the UK. The only children who leave assembly at my daughters school are the Mormons. They stay in assembly but when any reference to Jesus comes up a parent of the Mormon community leads all the Mormon children out. I don’t lead my children out, my children just don’t sing in the parts of hymns that refer to worshiping Jesus (pbuh)…. We had Hindu’s, Sikhs, Catholics, Protestants, Christians, Jews, Mormons, Jehovah’s witnesses and we all had assembly just fine. As a Muslim parent I have never been to a school where they have separate assemblies for Muslims, ever….
