Should UK party leaders have a US-style pre-election TV head-to-head?
Strange things happen during a head to head betweeen political leaders of the opposing kind. I recall the JFK vs Nixon head to head. The TV audience thought that JFK had won the debate, while the radio audience thought that Nixon had won the debate. So let’s have a debate on the radio. Between Cameron and Brown the winner hands down would be Brown – but only on the radio. By all means lets have a head to head here in UK – why not? I entirely agree with you, the press and the media do not understand the British people and they certainly do not understand the massive support for Labour which exists here in UK.
