Should Tyrod Taylor have been a Davey OBrien semifinalist?

0

Earlier this week, the semifinalists for the Davey O’Brien Award, given annually to the nation’s best quarterback, were announced. And to the surprise of some, Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor was not one of the 16 signal callers to make the cut. As a refresher, Taylor’s 171.14 passer rating ranks fourth in the nation right now and his 527 yards rushing are sixth most among quarterbacks in the country. Only Auburn’s Cam Newton is ranked that highly in both categories. “Somebody is not watching football,” Duke Coach David Cutcliffe told the “Mike and Mark” radio show on 620 AM in Raleigh, N.C. “Russell Wilson and Tyrod Taylor just pop to mind quickly. That’s ignorant, I’m sorry. That puts me in the category that I’m through with that award.” Tell us how you really feel, coach.
