Should two mentally handicapped people be allowed to produce offspring?
You don’t have to be a genius to love a child. If she has a job, then yes. Because that means she is functional than most. I think they should be married first simply because the kid would need that. I have worked in mental health for a long time and one of the most amazing things I’ve ever seen is a lower functioning, low IQ mother with a normal, smart, daughter. This is actually pretty common. Most low IQ persons will have an average or above average IQ child. They will need assistance though. I know of another handicapped couple that got their baby taken away because they weren’t feeding it. The mom kept the baby immaculately clean. Washed cloth diapers. Went above and beyond as far as other aspects of care but simply forgot that baby was hungry. They had social services work with them and got their baby back, btw.
