La Salle Parish District Judge J.P. Mauffray Jr. watchers are adamant that the judge is not a bigot, a back country bumpkin, or a judge thats in the hip pocket of La Salle District Attorney Reed Walters. Mauffray has even been criticized by some conservatives as being too fair-minded; meaning that hes willing to tilt ever so slightly toward working to help some of the troubled teens that parade before him in his juvenile court stay out of jail.
