Should time served be considered in manslaughter trials?

No it shouldn’t, I am a firm believer that the punishment should fit the crime. If a person is given 30 years for manslaughter then 30 years is what he or she should serve, not out in 15 for good behavior crap. If they have already spent 1 year in jail before sentencing then then the judge orders them to 30 years 30 years is what it should be without the 1 year being concidered as part of it.
