Should the voting age be lowered to 16 in the UK?

I am 17 and at college and I found it frustrating that I couldn’t vote in the last election but if the election what held next year I would of been able to vote. I have always believed that politicians don’t care what you think until you can vote. So that means that I can’t really complain about the governments plans to scrap my college’s rebuild. Nor can I complain about the governments plans to cut university places for my year. For those who believe that 16/17 year old’s are impressible to their parents’ views then I resent that as I developed different political views from my parents at the age of 15. Yes the majority of kids do believe what there parents believe, I did pre-15. All I’m saying is that not all of us do. We do have a mind of our own. For those who say that kids don’t care about politics, well the simple answer to that is that if they don’t have the attention span to understand politics than they wont have time to vote; just like adults.
