If the Vatican truly clings to half the morals it espouses, then applying criminal law to the Vatican shouldn’t be necessary – it should be a criminal act there as well. The Vatican shouldn’t be trying to cover this sort of thing up. If anything, it should be offering information gladly and paying restitution to the victims and helping them with the damage their priests have caused. Or, in other words, do what Jesus would have done. I would expect nothing less from the Vicar of Christ on Earth.
