I would think the key is to keep our own pastures abundant and don’t mistreat the land so that we will always be able to feed our own citizens. I think it is a travesty that so many farmers have lost their livelihood. When farmers produce too much of one type of crop I believe it should either be sold to a neighboring country or given to the poor of this nation. That way the experienced farmer will always have a job and his family can continue to prosper. We have been blessed with good soil for planting and generations of farmers who know how to treat the land so that it can reap a good harvest every year as long as it gets enough moisture.
