Should the US use more drones?

If it wants to create more Taliban sympathisers, yes. If not, then they should use them to gain intelligence and only fire missles when there is a very limited chance of civilian casualties. However, I feel they just fire on these villages regardless of the innocent families living there. Imagine if you’re an innocent villager whose children, cousins, aunts and uncles and elderly parents have just been wiped out by a drone – wouldn’t you want to join in the fight against the perpetrators? I think they do more harm than good. Edit: Um Jack….hello…..they’re just people, families with children like you and me.

They use drones (unarmed type) now along the US/Canada border to look for smugglers to great success.

Do all you people think that the operators of these drones just sit there and decide to take out random targets. It just doesn’t happen that way. Get your heads out of the sand and learn what must happen to get clearance for such a target to be attacked. The US cooperates with the Pakistani military and intel agencies behind the scenes for such things to happen and there is good reason for targeting the ones they do. You need to read up some and realize that many civilians in Afghanistan, Pakistan, and even Iraq turned in many houses/people to be targeted for other reasons (like feuds, old family hatreds, ethnic hatred, rivalries, differences in religious sects, etc.). I think we should develop and use even more drones (air, land and sea) to augment effectiveness and take more military personnel out of the dangerous jobs a remotely operated vehicle could do.
