Should the United States implement universal health care?

0

I used to work for the US government and was asked to go to Dallas. The one reason I did not go (possibly the wrong decision) was the health care. In my time with the US forces I came across so many nightmares it was unbelievable. The most terrible, a guy I knew, a sergeant in the USAF, mother got cancer. His father owned a chain of Hardware stores. To cover her health care he ended up having to sell most of the stores but his mother got better. Now at 65 he went down with cancer, stores now could not self sustain, he could not work and had no monies for health care. Last I heard was he was really ill and terminal, had lost his business and house and his wife was all but destitute. Whilst I personally think that French hospitals are better, the health care system is a bit weird the NHS knocks spots of the US. The US system is really third world and does and has needed for years, a shake up.
