The US shouldn’t do that unless the US can prove that it is at the receiving end of the nuclear threat. Otherwise the US will lose its influence and its integrity to influence its ally or friendly countries.

No, I believe if the U.S. were to destroy it’s entire nuclear arsenal, other countries such as North Korea, Iran, Venezuela and the terrorist groups would take advantage of the situation and attack.

Theodore Roosevelt’s axiom, “Walk softly, but carry a big stick” rings ever true today. To destroy any weapon the U.S. may have would simply jeopardize America and invite terrorists to have a field day at our expense.
