Should the UK bring back capital punishment?

No, I think that the risk of executing someone who is innocent is not one I can justify to myself. It is very difficult to be 100% sure that someone comitted a crime and beyond resonable doubt does not seem sure enough if you are talking about killing someone for something they may have done. You also run the risk of short sighted executions in the “heat of the moment” where people are baying for blood with respect to certain case types where the case may not have been investigated thoroughly because of the need to get a quick conviction. At least with a jail sentence if the conviction is wrong then the person can be released, a posthumous pardon is not good enough. I do however believe that the justice system needs significant improvement and that a sentence should be properly enforced in conditions where the convicted persons rights are limited to basics (food, shelter) and nothing more. A punishment should be a punishment. Another quick point, DNA evidence is not the be all and end
