Should the Pope insist that the Bishops tell him which Priests abused children and have them arrested?
All priests must be a little odd to start with as they devote their lives to what is, in effect, a fairy story without a shred of evidence in its credence. The ones who abuse children should be defrocked and publicly humiliated as this is perhaps the ultimate abuse of a position of trust. Unfortunately this will never happen as the Catholic (and indeed any) Church is based almost entirely on hypocrisy. The ranks close and the abusers get away Scot free. Anybody doing this in another area of life (ie, Scoutmaster or teacher) would quite rightly be punished but as priests they are allowed by their hierarchy to vanish into the ether. It is about time that someone brought a test case against the Catholic Church.
