Should the Minnesota Wild change their name to the North Stars?

No, the North Star and the history of the team died when Norm Greed packed up and moved in 1993. Along with it we lost the fan apathy (horrible trades and drafts during the 1980’s) and we lost professional hockey for 7 seasons. On the positive side, we got the best arena in the NHL (if the North Stars stayed the best we would have gotten was playing in the crappy Target Center), a new generation of fans who were too young to remember how poorly ran the team was. The Wild has been nothing but a first class organization during its brief history – and being new and not wanting to repeat the errors of the past – a new name and identity was a must (plus Dallas would never have given up the rights to the name).
