Should the McCanns support proposals to make a film about their missing daughter, Madeline?
“I believe that the McCanns were right to say that they will not be allowing a film to be produced about the disappearance of their daughter Madeline. I believe that if a film is produced then it would take away from the sadness and the reality of the loss of their daughter. However, I do feel that it would be a good idea to produce some kind of documentary about the disappearance, because that way it keeps it in the public’s mind for all the right reasons. Unfortunately the media has tended to focus on the parents as suspects and how bad they were to leave the children on their own, so a documentary would be able to show the reality of what happened, without romanticising the event as many Hollywood films do.
