Should the Mariners trade Chone Figgins?
Would anyone else trade for Chone Figgins? He’ll be making 8 million dollars a year for the next four years, and he’s already 32. His batting average is .226, and he’s slugging about what I would in the majors right now. There is no reasonable team that would take Figgins off our hands – not even the Oakland Raiders. Well, I guess they’re not a reasonable team. Figgins is going to have to keep playing second base for the Mariners until Dustin Ackley is ready. And there is still some doubt as to whether Ackley can ever develop into a serviceable enough fielder at the position.
