Should the “Made in Oregon” sign change?
Should the “Made in Oregon” sign change? Wednesday March 4, 2009 The University of Oregon proposed that the historic “Made in Oregon” sign on their newly renovated building say the university’s name instead. But Portland city planners put the kibosh on the U of O’s proposal, saying that there would be too many letters, and that the changes would make the sign inconsistent with its historical character. Apparently, changes to the sign still may happen, so stay tuned. Personally, I’d love to see the sign preserved exactly as is. I’ve got a soft spot for all the old neon signs in Portland, especially this one. Comments (9)See All PostsShare
