Should the GPPN collate information reviewing WatSan partnerships?
It was commonly held that a review of partnerships would be very helpful. Partnerships represent good examples of concrete outputs and achievements to fulfil the MDGs related to WatSan. An important function of such a review would be to outline the function of such partnerships, so as to help facilitate the establishment of new organisations. A meaningful evaluation would have to focus mostly on results. Again it was argued that a list of measures to evaluate these partnerships would need to be in place. Speciality-specific modules should be created in order to frame certain partnerships. Any appraisal of partnerships should assess whether they make economic as well as social sense, and where/ how they are contributing to positive solutions. A review of partnerships would have to be supervised by an international decision making body with the capacity and seniority to commit investment and policy decisions. The GPPN could initially build a consensus about which body this should be. Q3:
