Should the government of the United States lower the drinking age to 18 since kids drink anyways?
Personally I think they should. Most Americans develop their bad drinking habits (binge drinking habits) when they are in college. We force them into basements of fraternity houses where minors are drinking with minors without any guidance or supervision. Nobody teaches them how to drink responsibly. They invent games that get them wasted, drink until they pass out so they can write on each other and see vomitting as a funny side effect of drinking. We are seeing a growing trend of these “kids” never really growing out of that phase. I think we need to start teaching responsible behavior, whether you need to lower the drinking age to do that is a good question, but ultimately our society needs to change its attitude towards drinking and learn to drink responsibly. I see lowering the drinking age as a great way to do that. By lowering it you move the drinkers out of the basement and into the bars…where a bartender keeps tabs on them and adults are around to keep them in check. You get
