Should the government lower the drinking age to 18 instead of 21?

No (read on). I believe that drinking age requirements should be abolished completely. I do not feel it is the governments place to tell it’s citizens how to treat their own body in any capacity. I believe this should extend to tobacco, drugs, medicine, tattoos, abortion, sexual practices, etc. A big argument in opposition to this statement is that these people might abuse drugs, alcohol, etc, and incur huge medical bills, which the public will have to pay for. But being the Republican that I am, in addition to believing the government should NOT tell us what to put in our bodies, I also believe individual citizens have the right to NOT pay into a socialized medical plan, if they so desire. Thus, limiting citizens exposure to the medical costs of their irresponsible fellow citizens by not being forced to pay for the medical bills of an idiot who drowned his liver in Jack Daniels.
