Should the drivers of high occupancy vehicles be fined for not using HOV lanes?
What we need to do is get trucks out of the left hand lanes. Trucks cause more problems than any other vehicle. I know from experience as I used to drive the big rigs long distance. They tear up the roads and cause millions of dollars worth of damage to our highways. Trucks need to have their own lane and stay in it. The difference in speed between cars and trucks can cause a tremendous problem on the road. There is also something called a blind spot when driving a truck. I used to wrestle with this problem when I drove. It is on the right hand side and I just never knew if there was a car in the lane next to me when I wanted to shift to the right. It was scary and the way people drive today with increased speeds makes it that much more risky. Understand I am not against the truckers, but we need to have a designated lane for them. This is much more serious than vehicles being fined for not being in the HOV lane if they qualify. I would think that vehicles would want to stay in the HOV
