Should the British monarchy be abolished, and their wealth distributed to the commoners? ?

The British monarchy is totally outdated. Britain is on the verge of modern democracy but is simply held back due to this outdated way of thinking (which is centered around elitist tradition). As democracy and universal suffrage have become common place due to fundamental changes in Britain’s social and economic history it simply follows that the aristocratic and hereditary system should be eliminated. If wealth is seen in terms of power instead of ecomonics, then sovereign should be ‘the commoner’s’ /citizens not the crown or even parliament. It seems barbaric to leave the decision of head of state to the genetic lottery of the royals…Make Monarchy History.
