No. Tanning salons should not be responsible for skin cancer. Cigarette companies should not be responsible for lung cancer. And McDonald’s should not be held responsible for making people fat. All of these things are personal choices and the effects of these things are very well known. It drives me NUTS when people try to blame their own personal mistakes on companies for marketing it. It’s called capitalism, and if there’s a market for it, companies will show up- whether or not their product is harmful.
