Should supermarkets be greener?

0

When it comes to businesses, I believe it is important for economics be the reigning decisive factor in making policies. So while supermarkets should be greener, it should be because customers want them greener. It shouldn’t be because the government requires them to, but because answering to their customers (and economic factors) should require them to. Of course, the government can help promote this change in numerous ways such as removing subsidies on unsustainable crops (namely corn) and endorsing local farmers as great sources of fruits, vegetables and meat. (Typically, buying local is a lot better than buying organic. A lot of organic foods aren’t much better than non-organic foods).
