Should someone who is bedridden be left in charge of a small child?”

Of course not, and anyone with sense would know that. As it turns out, the bedridden, morbidly obese woman has now been charged with murder, as the child’s autopsy showed him to have skull fractures. Also, the mother had already been advised by some local social service agency not to leave her children in this relative’s care–not only did she continue to leave the 2-year-old there, but two younger children as well! Now those children are in foster care, and the 2-year-old is in the morgue… Yes, sad, senseless, and maddening. It doesn’t sound like these three kids had anyone who cared enough for them to make sure they were safe, from the mom on down. Maybe the two younger children, if they are extremely lucky, will end up being adopted, or at least placed in a loving, stable and *safe* home. I truly hope that they don’t end up in the revolving-door foster care system for their entire childhoods…
