Should social media sites be responsible for preventing potentially dangerous groups from gathering?
No, I don’t believe that they are to blame. The degree of censorship that it would take, across the entire social media network, to effectively prevent the dissemination of information would be frighteningly draconian. For states like Iran and China who look to prevent the free flow of information to their citizens, the writing is on the wall for this kind of information oppression. This is one bell that can’t be unrung.
