Should smacking children be allowed?

i don’t favor it. Children who are taught to be scared of getting hit usually turn out bad. It also ruins the relationship between parent and child. The child shouldn’t have to fear his/her parents. It really puts too much stress on the child. “If I don’t do this I will get smacked” is a bad mindset compared to “If I do this I will get a reward” or “If I don’t do this I will get punished (something will get taken away)” I’m not saying parents shouldn’t discipline their children. There are other ways of doing so without hitting them.
