Should skateboarding be ilegal?
Skateboarding is not illegal, they just restrict it in public areas. Think of it this way: football / basketball / hockey is played in a controlled environment, players sign waivers that acknowledge injury to the players may be incurred during play. The attending public is seated outside the play area to minimize their risk of injury. The same can be said for skateboarding within the confines of a skate park area, and in most cases when done in public areas when the skaters acknowledge their limits and show regard for other pedestrians. However, you can say there are bad apples that spoil the bunch. Legislators pass laws restricting public acts when it becomes a liability (since skaters can get hurt severely on public grounds) and when it dangers the public at large (when skaters show disregard for other pedestrians). They also may receive additional votes when it is time for re-election for parents and public who view said restrictive laws as beneficial. The exact same thing happened
