Should Scotland separate from Britain and become an independent nation?
Well it’s up to the Scots. I’d be sad to see them and England go their seperate ways as we have achieved a lot together, – defeated the Nazis, Napoleon, spread democracy around the world, built the biggest empire in the world, had the first industrial revolution and a lot of other things and the Scots played a massive role in all of this, it would be sad for UK to come to an end. But one thing that a lot Americans (that have posted on here) don’t realise is that nobody is forcing Scotland to be part of the UK, at present they have a nationalist government and will probably have a referendum on independence next year, whether they stay part of the union or go their own way – the destiny of Scotland is in hands of the Scottish people.
no they shouldnt the rest of the UK prevides scotland with alot of its needs also it wouldnt have an army anymore theyd be weak and they arnt apart of any alliance or group of support neither is any country in the UK its the UK it self that has an alliance and help why do you want independance anyway were pretty much the same in every way we have pretty much very similar law health care (NHS) currency same queen everything why should we split up and constantly have this arguement i wish britain would just become ONE SINGLE COUNTRY i love scotland england wales and northen ireland i see the UK as my country not england i love the UK more then anything and would never want to see it split up
Yes the United Kingdom should definetley break up. England, Scotland, and Wales should become 3 separate countries, and Northern Ireland should be united with the rest of Ireland. Maybe the 4 countries could join together in their own military/economic alliance instead of joining the EU, which i think should also break up.
No it shouldn’t not until the monarchy falls down Scotland has less right to split from England then Wales or Northern Ireland. Because in 1503 Margaret Tudor eldest daughter of King Henry VII of England and Queen Elizabeth of York married King James IV of Scotland and they had a son. In 1513 King James IV was killed and his son became King James V of Scotland after his brief marriage to the King of France daughter who died he married, Marie de Guise (a French noblewoman) and her only surviving child was a daughter when King James died six days later in 1542 Mary became the internationally famous Mary Queen of Scots. After fourteen years in France and her brief marriage to the French King she returned to Scotland. In 1565 she married Lord Henry Stuart (more commonly known as Lord Darnley) and in June 1566 she gave birth to a son, James after the mysterious death of Lord Darnley and her disastrous marriage to James Hepburn, Earl of Bothwell which caused in her remaining captive at Lochl
