Should schools take more responsibility for bullying?

Yes, it should not be tolerated under any circumstances, and the only way to put a stop to it at school (or on school busses, for that matter) is to place responsibility for any occurrance of bullying directly on school personnel.

Yes they should. If they did, then maybe kids wouldn’t feel like they could get away with so much and other kids would feel like they could tell teachers when they are being harrassed. I had an incident a while back that my son was being bullied daily by this one boy in a grade older than him. One day my son was being pushed around, was tired of it, and pushed back. The boys got into a fight and BOTH boys were suspended for a week. The schools solution was to punish both boys for fighting. Their philosophy is that it takes two to fight so two should be punished. It never would have elevated to that level if the school would have listened to my son and ME during the last two months begging them to do something. Because of “confidentiality” laws they couldn’t tell me who the boys parents were or how to get ahold of his parents. But they would give my information to them and if they wanted to contact me they could. And they never did. It’s disgusting that my son finally stood up for himse
