Should schools be allowed to teach creationism alongside evolution as part of their science curriculum?

I believe so, yes. I’m aware of the whole seperation of Church and State thing, but they could at least give the alternative that a Higher Power, a Higher Life, a Higher Being, a Creator, created the Universe and life itself. They could do this without inforcing any sort of religion. At least then people would be open to truth by having being better exposed to Intelligent Design and Creationism alongside Evolutionism. I also think that evidence for it should be presented (and there is plenty of evidence for Creationism) just as evidence is presented for Darwin’s theory. I hope that this is helpful. -In the Master’s service. Thank you and God bless you!

They should be allowed to teach creationism alongside evolution just as much as they should teach Scientology and Greek mythology. . That means not at all. Science is about facts and evidence, not bedtime stories.

Not as science no. In an RE lesson, they could teach it as a theory, but I don’t see how it has anything to do with science.

Creationism is a vague hypothesis, based on a religious text and an asiduous refusal to examine the facts. Evolution is a scientific theory, based entirely upon known facts and observed evidence. Evolution is a science, creationism is not, therefore creationism should be taught in RE, until such time as creationists can find scientific, observable, repeatable proof of their version of events, I have yet to see one single shred of remotely plausible science in favour of the biblical creation myth.
