Students will benefit by being able to break free from sub-par government schools and government schools may benefit by the competition. Even if some government school systems end up shrinking, the result should be a healthier education environment in the US for ALL students. • CL, Lexington: As a native of Florida, where school vouchers are already in use, yes, SC needs school vouchers. I presently home school my middle schooler and feel that if Lex Dist 1 is one of the best in the state, I hate to see the worst. Also, when schools start shutting down around here, it will force cuts in the “over admistrated” district offices, that turn their heads to the problems of schools in their communities, to do something besides collect our tax dollars so they can sit at their desks in their lavish offices.
