Should school uniforms be compulsory (this is a debate things so i have to gather peoples opinions.?
1. If the school has a policy on school uniforms and someone wants to attend that school, they should follow the policy. 2. It levels the playing field with kids that arent from rich households – everyone is wearing roughly the same thing. 3. It allows the great practice of 2nd hand uniforms – big saving for parents. 4. Kids dont have to worr about what they are wearing each day. 5. Unfortunately, without a policy, kids will tend to push the envelope and wear things that are inappropriate.
Arguments for are that they eliminate artificial status clothing among students, avoid disruption and disputes about “inappropriate” wear, and encourage school spirit and class discipline. Arguments against are that they encroach on students’ freedom of choice, may be too expensive for some students, and are wasted in places outside the school. My opinion: yes, good idea. A lot of countries have standard uniforms for school students.
