Should Rush Limbaugh be barred from owning part of an NFL team?
If we start allowing protesters to determine who can own an NFL franchise, very soon there won’t be any purchasers available to buy teams when they are up for sale. Sports franchises aren’t cheap and there is a limited pool of potential buyers out there. Almost everyone out there who has enough money to buy a franchise has got enemies of one sort or another. Furthermore, there doesn’t seem to be any current rule in effect that would allow the NFL to bar someone because of their political views: All four major leagues have strict rules regarding who may own a team, and also place some restrictions on what other sort of activities the owners may engage in… The NFL currently forbids large ownership groups or publicly-traded corporations from purchasing NFL teams.
