New York, California and parts of Washington State have already passed similar menu labeling laws for chain restaurants. The laws require that calorie counts be posted directly on menus and menu boards. Philadelphia went one step father and requires trans fat, saturated fat, carbohydrates and sodium also be listed, along with calories. The Pennsylvania Restaurant Association opposes the new law, stating that “…this regulation opens the restaurant industry in Philadelphia to a number of liability issues that will make restaurant companies think twice about opening new stores or expanding here, depriving the cit of much-need jobs and tax revenue.” Read the whole artic
