Should public organizations and schools distribute condoms?
As I was reading some of the previously written “Yes” articles on this topic, I found myself yelling at my monitor! And, although I am not in any way in favor of schools and public organizations handing out condoms, even some of the articles on the “No” side seem to indicate a bit of ignorance of reality. It seems as though people are missing what’s truly important here. The issue is not whether or not public organizations should be handing out condoms. The issue is why are parents being let off the hook? It’s not a school teacher’s or public health worker’s duty to teach OUR children how to act sexually responsible. It is OUR duty as parents to teach our kids and the school’s duty to enforce what we have already instilled. Now if we, as adults, were a little more intelligent about our choices in discipline, maybe our children would not feel that they needed to go to a stranger for help. We can’t keep giving mixed messages and expect the kids to do the right thing. We were all kids onc
