Should provincial Ministry of Education put emphasis on Classical Studies?
The classical studies is usually thought at Canadian University level. I did a B.A. in Classical Studies. There are M.A. and PHD in Classical studies. However, it used to be thought at the college level in the old days. Perhaps we should reintroduce the classics to young people. Perhaps there should be more emphasis educating children at the elementary and high school level on Classical studies.This would give them a general culture. Such as learning the history of Greek and Roman Arts, Greek and Roman Architecture, Latin and Greek language.Greek History And Roman History, Greek and Roman Science engineering, Greek and Roman philosophy, Greek and Roman Literature and Poetry. The students could learn about Greek and Roman Historians. Perhaps a return to Classical studies would be a good thing. This would enable children to learn how to think. Classical Studies is the basis of our Western Civilization. Our democracy was started in Ancient Greece. Greek and Latin is the basis of European
