Should proposers plan on building an energy source in a 5590 form factor?
The selected performers may not need to physically build an energy source in a BA-5590 form factor unless the identified DoD customer in option#1 requests such a form factor. An energy source in a final packaged form is not needed until well after the first 12-24 months of risk mitigation and proof of concept. The BA-5590 form factor is mainly used in the proposal writing process to constrain the proposed approaches and creating a more consistent discussion in proposals.
