Should private clubs be exempt from state smoking ban?

0

‘I just feel that they are taking away our rights, ‘ said Midland Eagles member Jim Tremain of Beaverton as he puts out his cigarette before a meeting at the Midland Eagles Club, 2934 E. Monroe, in Midland on Wednesday evening. About 150 people from across the state gathered at the meeting to discuss private clubs becoming exempt from the smoking ban that passed in December. The House Bill 4377 prohibits allowing owners to decide if their bar/club will allow smoking. Many private clubs, such as the Midland Eagles, are trying to get their clubs exempt like casinos, cigar bars or specialty retail stores.
