No. And let me tell you why he shouldn’t be. Today I was present at the London remembrance service at the Cenotaph in Whitehall. When the queen, the PM, the MPs and other dignitaries laid their wreaths and retired to the Foreign Office building, the march of the veterans commenced. While the people present all clapped and cheered them, the only one of the royal family/MPs who bothered to watch part of the parade from the Foreign Office balconies was Prince William. Gordon Brown, considering how many young soldiers are being blown to bits in Iraq and Afghanistan in his name, did not watch the parade. So as of today, helicopter high-jinks or not, Prince William has my utmost respect.
