Should presentation times for public participants vary depending on the type of information presented?
Consistent with the draft Policy on Public Input into the Review of Health Products, the question proposed that a person presenting quantitative or qualitative research should be given more time than someone relating personal experiences. A majority of respondents (57 %) agreed that the presentation time for public participants at a public forum should vary based on the type of information they present. However 25 % of respondents did not agree, and 19 % did not express an opinion. Respondents from the private sector were more likely to agree with varying presentation times than respondents from other sectors. Would receiving extraneous information, not pertinent to legislated review requirements, be detrimental to the credibility of a subsequent regulatory decision?
