Should Pregnant Teenagers Be Able To Get Abortions, Medical Care Without Parents Knowing?
That’s the question in the North Dakota legislature as the Senate considers SB2394 which would allow teenage mothers to get pre-natal care and care for their children without telling their parents. BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) North Dakota doctors say state law should give pregnant teenagers the right to seek medical care in confidence. Advocates of parents’ rights say parents should not be denied information about their daughter’s pregnancy unless there’s good reason for it. The Senate Human Services Committee is sorting through the issue, and the full Senate will eventually vote on the idea. The legislation would give pregnant girls the right to get medical care for themselves and their unborn children without having to tell their parents.
