Should pot be legal in the us?
I don’t see why not, I think it should be legal to a certain extant as it is in Europe. Pot is bad for you, but so are cigarettes and yet cigarettes are legal. Pot gets you high but alcohol gets you drunk, which is just as bad yet alcohol is legal. Pot should be legal because if people want to smoke pot they should be allowed just like if they wanted to smoke a cigarette or get hammered. How ever there should be laws like minors aren’t allowed to and you shouldn’t be allowed to drive afterwards and you shouldn’t be allowed to grow it your self(for tax reasons).
Yes–for a number of resons (and BTW–I don t use or approve of using pot). >Contrary to myths, pot is probably the drug least likely to kill anyone, and its widespread use shows that it’s negative health effects are limited. >It is the largest cash crop in the US (no, I’m not kidding), yet alll of this money eneds up in the hands of criminals and none of the billions in tax money it could generate are collected >given its mild effects, law enforcement resources would be better used combating serious criminal activity >As long as it is illegal, marijuana functions as an “entrepot” drug. What this means is that it brings new users into contact with the criminal underworld and hard drug abuse culture, facilitating the recruitment of users into trying harder and far more dangerous drugs. There is a lot of emprical evidence that legalizationn severs this social link, leading to a reduction of the number of people who try hard drugs.
